6 Must Have Appliances Every Modern Kitchen Should Have

A modern kitchen isn’t simply about having the sleekest countertops or most contemporary fixtures and fittings, it’s about choosing the correct tools and appliances that work to make everyday tasks fast and efficient, making your life run smoothly and enhancing the enjoyment you get out of your living space whilst giving it a luxurious edge.

In this article we’re listing some of the must have appliances that will save you time, space, energy and in some cases – money!

Wodar Instant Boiling Hot Water Tap

We’re going to kick things off with one of our very own products because when it comes to kitchen gadgets it truly doesn’t get much better than access to instant boiling water, the moment you need it.

Instant boiling water taps are a must have item for any modern kitchen and offer convenience that every homeowner will appreciate.  Instant boiling water taps are handy for tackling many domestic tasks, including preparing hot drinks, blanching vegetables, quickly making noodles, soups and other dishes, sterilising baby toys and dummies and cleaning dishes, pots, pans and other utensils.

An instant boiling hot water tap will free up space on your kitchen counter and make the tedious wait for the kettle a thing of the past. You might also notice a reduction in your bills too, as you’ll only be using exactly the amount of hot water you need, instead of boiling an entire kettle for a single cup of tea, saving on electricity and water waste.

From our 4-in-1 taps you get instant boiling water as well as ordinary cold and hot plus the extra benefit of filtered cold drinking water.

This is why we believe that instant boiling hot water taps will become an indispensable feature in modern kitchen design. You heard it here first!

Coffee Machine

More than 400 billion cups of coffee are consumed everyday around the world and although it feels like we drink that much on a daily basis here at Wodar HQ, this makes the brown hot stuff one of the most popular drinks on the planet, second only to water.

To put it simply, we are obsessed with a decent cup of joe and luckily for us there are so many great machines on the market, making it possible to enjoy a barista quality coffee in the comfort of your own home.

Although there are some fantastic pod machines available, if you’re a coffee aficionado we suggest you look for a bean-to-cup machine that takes whole coffee beans and grinds fresh for each cup of coffee you make. With an automatic bean-to- cup machine all you have to do is pour in fresh water and the milk of your choice and hey presto, you get a professional style coffee in a matter of seconds. What a time to be alive!

Air Fryer

Air fryers are basically small convection ovens that use inbuilt fans to circulate hot air evenly around food so that you get a crisp texture, much like you get from deep fat frying but with little to no oil, therefore making it a far healthier way to cook.

Air fryers are faster at cooking food because they’re a lot smaller than conventional ovens, effectively using dry heat to penetrate the food from the outside in, for hot and crispy results.  They heat up faster whilst using less energy and are comparatively quick to clean.

Despite the name, air fryers aren’t only able to cook foods traditionally prepared in a deep fat fryer, you can also use them to reheat leftovers or ready meals, roast joints of meat, fish or vegetables, dehydrate fruits and vegetables and even bake fresh bread or sweet treats such as brownies, biscuits and cakes. In fact, there are very few things you can’t cook in an air fryer, which is why every kitchen should have one.

Food Processor

Whether you’re an accomplished chef or a basic home cook, a food processor is a bit of kit that will elevate your kitchen skills and cut prep time down to a minimum. Excellent for preparing both savoury and sweet dishes, a decent food processor can tackle chopping, slicing, grating, whisking, mincing, kneading, emulsifying, juicing and pureeing at the touch of a button.

A food processor is one of the most versatile machines you can gift your kitchen and they will expand your repertoire of recipes by making light work of whipping up dishes such as dips, soups, doughs, sauces, smoothies and more.

From mini to family size, there are many different sizes of food processor on the market, making it easy to choose one suitable to your requirements and available kitchen space. It’s advisable to seek out a food processor with a nice wide feed chute through which you can add ingredients to the bowl without having to pre-chop and look out for one with plenty of attachments to give your machine maximum multitasker functionality. We also suggest purchasing a food processor that has dishwasher safe components as this will make life much easier at tidy up time.

Wine Fridge

If you’re a wine enthusiast a wine fridge is a must have addition to your kitchen. Unless you have access to an underground wine cellar as found within the finest Chateaux in France, wine fridges or coolers are the next best option for properly storing your wine long term as they maintain the ideal conditions for maintaining the flavour, body and notes of the wine.

As well as offering a great hiding place for all of that wine you bought, wine fridges keep wine at an optimum drinking temperature, allowing even unexpected guests to pick a bottle from your impressive LED lit refrigerator to enjoy perfectly chilled vino on any day and for any occasion (do you even need an excuse though?).

Ice Maker

If we’re getting deep into the realms of ‘my dream kitchen’ then surely everyone and their dog would say they need an ice maker.

We’ve all experienced the frustration of realising that someone didn’t refill the icetray or that it has tipped over before freezing and so you’re left with a sad frozen puddle of water covering your box of fish fingers and nothing to put in your gin and tonic.

With an ice maker you can luxuriate in an abundance of ice whenever you need it, freeing up space in your freezer for leftovers and meal prep or perhaps just multiple boxes of Magnum ice creams. Plus, you get a limitless supply of ice to experiment with iced coffees, slushies, cocktails or even for easing aching muscles after a workout or injury. What you do with your ice is your business.
